Returning to Campus

Housing and Dining

All current students eligible for the Off-Campus Housing Status will receive an email about the process at the end of October. Registration for Off-Campus Housing Status is through the web. Students on leave must keep their OCMail account current in order to register for Off-Campus Housing. The deadline for registration is midnight, November 25, 2009.

For all other students Housing Registration will be available from the Residential Education web site, http://www.oberlin.edu/resed in mid-March. All students will be updated on housing registration through their OCMail account.

Students on academic leave will receive credit for the semester(s) away in the semesters in residency calculation. Students on personal and medical leaves of absence will not receive residency credit.

Email resed@oberlin.edu or call 440-775-8472 with any housing questions. To live and/or dine in OSCA, contact the OSCA office directly, 440-775-8108 or email OSCA@oberlin.edu.

All students are expected to live and take meals on campus unless released in writing by the Assistant Director for Housing Administration. Students should not sign an off-campus rental lease or pay a security deposit without written notification of release. Any student who remains enrolled in the College, but leaves College housing and/or dining halls during the academic year without a release, continues to be liable for the charges for the full academic year. Students who accept the off-campus option and then choose to return to the College housing system will be eligible to select only from housing available at the time of their return.

All students are expected to live in College housing through graduation. A limited number of students who have lived on campus for at least seven semesters may be granted off-campus (town) housing status based a lottery system.
