Planning Your Study Away

Planning ahead is one of the most important components in having a successful semester away from campus.   The checklist below is intended as a useful tool but not a required course of action.

Study Away Planning Checklist

•  Attend a study away information session offered in either fall or spring semester.

•  Discuss your interest in studying away for a semester

with your academic advisor.

•  Enroll in language courses in your area of interest.

•  Attend a fall Study Away Fair.

•  Stop by the Study Away Office (Peters 205) or visit the

Study Away website.

•  Make an appointment to discuss your plans with your academic advisor and/or with the Study Away Advisor in Peters 205.

•  Research study away programs and choose one or two programs of interest.

•  Apply to the study away program of your choice.

•  Apply for an Academic Leave of Absence (application deadline:  March 15 for fall, spring and full year academic leaves).
