CENTER FOR SERVICE AND LEARNING
About
The Oberlin College Center for Service and Learning facilitates partnerships
among local community organizations, faculty members, students and the College
as a whole. To support Oberlin's mission of "preparing students
for intelligent and useful response to the present and future demands of
society," the Center for Service and Learning:
develops programs that combine community involvement with the intellectual
curiosity and artistic development of college students
links students with community organizations that have both a strong need
for volunteers and a desire to help develop student leaders
sponsors programs and events designed to enhance communication and interaction
between the community and the College
The Center for Service and Learning (CSL) serves as a resource to students,
faculty and the wider community as they work together to address key issues.
The CSL maintains contact with more than 120 community organizations, schools,
and government agencies that seek Oberlin students for volunteer positions,
Community Service Work-Study positions, and internships.
