How to help

Even if you’re not on campus, you can be a huge help in supporting student productions, now and in the future.

South
Right now, we’re raising money to cover the cost of a sprung floor for the South Rehearsal Spaces. This is a wood surface with some ‘give’ (like a gym floor) - superior to a standard concrete floor as it is much safer (joint-wise and in general) for anyone rehearsing for hours at a time. Dance, musical theater, opera and other groups that regularly move around will in particular benefit from this flooring. It allows the space to be used by more and different groups, reflecting all the different styles (and combinations) of performance at Oberlin each year.

We’re looking to raise $40,000 from alumni, family, and friends. With hundreds of alumni and parents being contacted over the year, every donation helps us reach our goal. The rehearsal spaces on their own are a huge benefit to the performers on campus; the sprung floor makes them that much better. This project will have a lasting impact on the arts at Oberlin – everyone currently on campus can take advantage, and underclassmen will get to use the spaces for years to come. Please consider making a gift today.

Mentoring
Students can always benefit from alumni as mentors, and through summer jobs and internships in the arts.  Please indicate your willingness to help through your profile in ObieWeb and keep your contact information updated.

ArtsFest
This year, ArtsFest wants to feature alumni work, whether in the form of a workshop or master class, or participation in the 24-Hour Theater Festival. If you are interested, please contact or .

Come see a show!
There are over 70 student theater, dance, opera, comedy and other productions, plus art exhibits and more at Oberlin each year. If you're in the area, or planning to visit, check the events calendar to find out what's playing.

Thank you for your support of the arts at Oberlin!
