* Scholarships
Oberlin is an institution committed to economic diversity among its student body; the college meets 100 percent of the demonstrated financial need of all students. More than 80 percent of Oberlin students receive some sort of financial aid. This support comes from all areas: endowment dollars, grants, and gifts from parents, alumni and even senior gift! Financial support from the senior class would raise money for scholarships that help students in need of financial aid assistance.
* Health and Wellness: Counseling Center
Oberlin’s Counseling Center staff addresses the important developmental challenges faced by Oberlin students, as well as the needs of students with serious psychological and psychiatric disorders. Our highest priority is to provide an easily accessible campus safety net for all students by offering quality, professional psychological and psychiatric services in a timely manner. This past year, we served over 30 percent of Oberlin students via individual therapy, group therapy, and outreach programs. With each year, the number of students who access our services and the severity of issues have increased. Financial support from the senior class would help the Counseling Center provide more outreach programming, expand their psychoeducational library, and enhance the operation of their current facility.
* Health and Wellness: Department of Athletics & Physical Education
The Department of Athletics & Physical Education is a leader in supporting healthy lifestyles and developing lifelong habits of fitness and well-being on our campus. With 42 percent of Oberlin students participating in varsity athletics, club sports, intramurals, or taking a physical education class, the department must continue to find ways to provide adequate facilities and appropriate programming to address the growing needs of our campus community. Financial support from the senior class would help the Department of Athletics & Physical Education by upgrading cardio equipment; making facility enhancements; and providing programming to focus on healthy cooking demonstrations, increased yoga offerings, and resistance training.
*Gifts to the Health & Wellness area will be divided between the Counseling Center and Department of Athletics & Physical Education
* Green EDGE Fund
The Green EDGE Fund finances environmental projects on the Oberlin College campus and occasionally in the Oberlin community. These projects include anything that protects the environment but whose savings aren't easily quantifiable: for example, covered bike racks, organic fertilizers to replace petroleum pesticides, and community renovation programs. Financial support from the senior class would help make future Green Edge Fund projects like the installation of new shower heads in many dorms or additional bike rack covers possible.
