Nancy Boutilier brings experience as a poet, journalist, and classroom teacher to “Writing for College and Beyond.” Her two poetry collections, According To Her Contours (1992) and On the Eighth Day Adam Slept Alone (2000), were both finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for Poetry. Her writings about sports, politics, literature and culture have appeared in a variety of publications, and she was a columnist for San Francisco's Bay Area Reporter for a number of years.
Ms. Boutilier has taught creative writing and composition in community centers, high schools, and community college. She is also a member of the Oberlin College Athletic Department, where she serves as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. She is also a fledgling bass player.
