Housing

How Selection Works

  • All students must submit housing and dining request information, even if they currently have off-campus status.
  • Your semesters in residence are projected for the fall semester and listed as a number from 1 to 10 on the on-line housing and dining application. The semesters in residence projection is based on the number of semesters you have completed and includes any approved academic leaves of absence.
  • Computer Generated random/lottery numbers within semesters in residency for 2009-2010 are assigned as outlined on this page.
  • Priority for housing (as an individual in relation to other students) is assigned by your projected semesters in residence and the assigned random lottery number The higher your semesters in residence and the lower your random lottery number, the higher your priority.
  • Housing Selection takes place in stages: Off campus (early and second round), village, co-op, program and special interest, and traditional housing. Based on your semesters in residence you must order or prioritize your housing preferences.
  • Once you have been assigned to one of the four housing selection processes, you must select a space in that process. No one is able to enter multiple processes. For example, once you have received off-campus housing status and you accept it, you may not go through any other housing selection process.
  • In the same respect, once you have selected Village Housing multiple occupancy you will be required to select a space in that area. If the housing configuration you want is not available, and spaces are available for the size of your group, you still must make a selection in village housing.
  • Be sure to have back up choices as to where your group would like to live. Within Village Housing a group of four may have to choose 2 two-person apartments.
