Brayton Craig M. Fields

Howdy y'all. My name is Brayton (Craig) Fields and I am the Assistant Dean/Assistant Director for Residential Education that supervises Co-ops, Village, the Beast, South and Talcott Halls. I got my start in the field at Colorado State University where I majored in Social Work. That led me to Northern Arizona University for my Master's in Counseling. Since graduation, my career path has taken me all over the place. I worked for a year as an Area Coordinator at Willamette University, spent two years as a Residence Life Coordinator at Humboldt State University, and prior to Oberlin I worked as an Area Coordinator at Texas Tech. I came to Oberlin because I was impressed with the students I met, the commitment from the college to student success, I liked the opportunity to work as a small college again and have the opportunity to pursue many interests in my job including recruitment/training, ATOD issues, crisis and developing a vision for the Office. When not at work, I enjoy working on my house, playing with my dogs and finding interesting places to eat. I LOVE FOOD! See what Oberlin has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

Rebecca Mosely

Hi all! My name is Becky Mosely, and I am Assistant Dean/Assistant Director overseeing Langston, Noah and Zechiel halls as well as the First Year Experience and Program House clusters. I completed my undergraduate degree at Clarion University of PA in French Education, my Master's degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education at The Ohio State University, and am currently working on my doctoral degree at Bowling Green State University. Prior to coming to Oberlin in 2005, I worked for three years as a Resident Director at The University of Arizona, and two years as an Area Coordinator at Texas Tech University. I came to Oberlin because I liked the liberal arts feel of the school as well as the student body's commitment to social justice issues. I also really enjoyed the people I met when I interviewed and was excited for the challenge of working in an office that was changing its mission and philosophical guidelines. Outside of work, I like spending time with my husband golfing, and playing with our two dogs and cat. I am also a huge football fan and love watching my Steelers and Buckeyes!

Allison Avolio

Hi my name is Allison Avolio and I am the Program House Resident Director here at Oberlin College. I am originally from Eighty-Four, Pennsylvania -- about 30 miles SW of Pittsburgh. I am an alumna of Muskingum College where I obtained a BA in History and Communications. More recently I obtained my MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. I chose Oberlin College because of its fantastic reputation, amazing staff, and the fact that the overall position has given me the opportunities to interact with and support students -- which is my ultimate professional goal. I am very passionate about animals (love them all) but also passionate about the overall mental, physical, and spiritual balance of health and wellness in the college environment!

David Barnes

My name is David Barnes. I am the Resident Director of Barnard, Burton and East. My hometown is Akron, OH. I did my undergraduate work at The Ohio State University and received a BA in Strategic Communication. I chose Oberlin because I admired its tradition of activism, as well as its appreciation of the arts. I'm passionate about the singer/songwriting/actress/model: Brandy (aka TV's "Moesha").

Nathan Fein

My name is Nathan Fein. I am the First Year Experience Resident Director. My hometown is Granada Hills, CA. I did my undergraduate work at Boston University, and received my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Social Science and History Education. My masterÕs work was done at University of Texas at Austin, where I received my Master's of Education in College and University Personnel Administration. I chose Oberlin because it is such a unique atmosphere and the students keep you on your toes. I am passionate about Leadership Education. Leadership permeates so much of what happens in everyday life. Leadership education provides people with the tools to fill the gap between what we assume about relationships and the tools to fully understand the relationship between leaders, followers, and situations. If we want our future leaders of society to be effective we need to provide them with these tools.

Kyle Griffith

Hey folks. My name is Kyle Griffith, and I'm the Resident Director this academic year for Langston, Noah, and Zechiel Halls on the north campus of Oberlin College. I grew up in a small suburb immediately outside Chicago called Westchester, and this is my second year here at Oberlin. Working for the Office of Residential Education is my first professional position after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BA in English Literature in 2007, and I can confidently say this is the most challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done. I chose Oberlin because of its highly-developed collective social consciousness--I enjoy very much that I don't have to spend as much time educating staff, students, and faculty on "issues" in general. My passions and the people here mesh pretty well to provide engaging dialogues on gender, disability, and sustainability issues and anything else that pops up when I'm chatting with other members of the community. I will freely admit that I'm a Res Ed Nerd and that that takes up a large amount of my time, but I'll drop what I'm doing in a heartbeat at the suggestion of going for a walk or singing some Karaoke. And no need to worry about location for that last one--I have my own machine in my apartment. If you have any questions about the Office of Residential Education or Oberlin College in general, feel free to contact me at kyle.griffith@oberlin.edu.

David Robbins

My name is David Robbins and I am the Resident Director for Village Housing and Co-Operative Housing. I am originally from Coudersport, PA and attended college at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. While at Bloomsburg, I received my BA in Music and my MS in Instructional Technology. My decision to accept a position at Oberlin College was quite easy. I was drawn to Oberlin's rich tradition of providing students with a challenging, progressive liberal arts education. I was also intrigued by Oberlin's thriving co-operative organization, OSCA. Having a chance to work closely with OSCA has been wonderful, as it has given me insight into the passionate and self-direction of Oberlin students. The Oberlin community is also a "town" in the truest sense of the word. Oberlin students and town residents are fervently committed to the betterment of the town through such actions as shopping locally and choosing sustainable modes of transportation. When not "on-the-job", I am likely to be found making, listening to, or discussing music. I believe music to be one of the true joys in life and appreciate Oberlin's commitment to the art form. Whether it be rock concerts at The 'Sco, a symphony at Finney Chapel, or an impromptu jazz session at the Cat 'n the Cream, Oberlin offers endless opportunities for the music lover.

Frank Cirioni

Hey Everyone! My name is Frank A. Cirioni and I am the Graduate Resident Director for First-Year Experience. IÕm originally from West Harrison, New York and I completed my undergraduate work at New York Institute of Technology where I earned my Bachelor's of Arts in Visual Arts Education. I currently attend Bowling Green State University where I am working towards my Master's of Arts in College Student Personnel. I chose to work at Oberlin because I was excited to work at an institution that had a reputation for being a prestigious private liberal arts college, as well as being very progressive and highly involved in promoting social justice. I am very passionate about working in Student Affairs and I am an advocate for promoting and expanding student affairs initiatives on college and university campuses. I believe that students learn much more about themselves and about the world from what they do outside of the classroom, and I am dedicated to increasing and enhancing those experiences for students here at Oberlin.

Chad Myers

Howdy folks! My name is Chad Myers and I am the Graduate Resident Director of the Program Houses. I was born and raised in the great state of Texas, in the small town of Liberty Hill. I am an alumnus of The University of Texas at Tyler where I obtained my BS in Health and Kinesiology with teacher certification. I am currently in my second year of graduate school at Bowling Green State University where I am working towards my MA in College Student Personnel. I chose to work at Oberlin because of their diverse student body and the opportunity it afforded me to work closely with students from underrepresented populations. Working with underrepresented populations is something that I am very passionate about and I have spent countless hours studying and learning about the transgender population. I am also very passionate about sports and the benefit that they have in everyday life and can be found playing volleyball just about every weekend!

Jodi Burnett

My name is Jodi Burnett and I am the Resident Director for South and Talcott. My hometown is Buffalo, NY. I attended Kent State University and received my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies. I chose Oberlin because it is my husband's hometown and I wanted to raise my family here. I am passionate about my family.

Emily Fitzpatrick

I'm Emily Fitzpatrick, and I am the new Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach, as well as the Resident Liason for Burton, East and Barnard. I am originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Language from Sweet Briar College in 2007. I also minored in Sociology and Creative Writing. I chose Oberlin because of the sense of community present from the moment I stepped onto campus for my interview. It felt like a perfect place to begin my collegiate coaching career. One thing I am passionate about is lacrosse and I am so excited that I get to make a living doing what I love to do.

Kelsey Knapp

Hey everyone! My name is Kelsey Knapp and I am the Assistant Softball Coach here at Oberlin. My job within ResEd is being a Resident Liaison for the Langston, Noah, and Zekiel cluster. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh (yes, I am a Steelers fan and proud to flaunt that here in Cleveland). I attended the University of Delaware for my undergraduate work and received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. I chose to come to Oberlin because it presented the unique opportunity for me to work in two different departments. Not only do I get to continue to be involved with softball, which has been my passion for as long as I can remember, but I also get to further my personal development and my professional career as a ResEd staff member.

Kevin Wahl

During the 04-05 season, I worked as assistant football coach at Pandora-Gilboa High School. In 05-06 I coached running backs at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Now, I coach the Defensive Line and Coordinate the Special Teams for the Oberlin College Football Team. I also enjoy skiing in the off-season. I love the small community and the outstanding people that work and study here at Oberlin.
