Center Facilities
Strength
Training/Cardiovascular Equipment
The fitness center consists of a variety of cardio equipmentAir
Dyne bikes, Nordic Trak, Precor Elliptical, rowing machines, Stairmaster
steppers and Woodway treadmillsin the second floor South Atrium.
The second floor Weight Rooms contain Hammer Strength, BFS selectorized
and Universal weight training machines, as well as free weights.
Also available are a heavy bag and speed bags and room for stretching.
Weight room monitors are on duty to enforce all rules and prevent
misuse of the equipment. Monitors are NOT instructors, and are not
authorized to give instruction on the equipment.
Use of weights and/or exercise machines is at the Members own
risk. Due to potential safety and liability risks, no children under
the age of 14 may use any of the exercise equipment.
Racquetball, Squash, Table Tennis, and Indoor Golf
There are six racquetball and five squash courts, plus one doubles
squash court, two courts for table tennis, and one for golf. Reservations
are recommended. See Facility Reservation.
West Gym
The West (non-varsity) Gym is normally open for pickup basketball
whenever the building is open. Volleyball and/or badminton nets, if
desired, can be set-up on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Carr Pool
The pool consists of six 25-yard-long lanes, plus a diving well with
1 and 3 meter spring-boards. It may be entered through both the mens
and womens locker rooms.
Fencing/Martial Arts/Multi-purpose Room
If this room is not scheduled it is open for Member use. Please check
at the Recreation Center office.
Indoor Track
The indoor track, located in the John W. Heisman Club Field House
and bordering the four indoor tennis courts, is 200 meters long, and
is for running and walking. Seven laps in the outside lane equals
one mile. |
