UPS NOTICE
The stockroom will no longer handle personal shipments for UPS or any other carrier. If you need to send personal items there are local vendors that handle UPS consignments. The UPS Store on Main street downtown, 440-774-7447, handles UPS shipments and will pickup and deliver these shipments.
COLLEGE RELATED SHIPMENTS USING FOAPs (ACCOUNT NUMBERS) WILL CONTINUE AS BEFORE.
TELEPHONE SERVICE FORMS
We have setup a special email address for scheduling telephone conference calls and requirements for telephone service changes or repairs. The email address is:
telcorep@oberlin.edu
All requests for changes must be sent to the above email address, this includes emergency requirements. This email address is continuously monitored and will result in getting the requirement to the appropriate individual in a more timely manner. Please DO NOT call in service changes/repairs or requests for setting up conference calls, you will just be referred to the purchasing web site shown below so that you may download the necessary form and email it to "telcorep". These forms will help to improve accuracy in reporting problems and serve as a record of your request.
http://www.oberlin.edu/purchase/telephone
At the above site you will find the "Telephone Service Change/Repair Request Form" and "Conference Call Request form" as well as other forms and documents pertaining to the telephone system. I encourage you all to use the site frequently and check it from time to time for changes or updates to the documents provided there. This system should enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of the changes/repairs you request.
IMPORTANT STUDENT VOICE MAIL INSTRUCTIONS
Oberlin College has provided each student with a personal voice mail box as part of the new telephone system. Each room has a single telephone number.
Depending on the number of students in a room you may have to record a general greeting announcing the room number and how to reach each occupant's mailbox. Each student within the room has a private mailbox. Students must initialize the room greeting ("press 1 for Bill, 2 for Bob", etc.) for the voice mail system to be activated. If you have not activated the greeting you are missing calls and your callers are receiving a message stating that your voicemail is not active.
All students were given an instruction sheet on voice mail activation and passwords. If you have misplaced yours, you may download the instruction sheet from the web at http://www.oberlin.edu/purchase/telephone/.
If you need your voice mailbox number contact ResLife.
To have your password reset call extension 58121 and give them your name, email address, telephone number and voice mailbox number.
Government Call Blocking Website
If you are getting calls from telemarketers on your business or home phone you can go to a government website and submit a request to block these types of calls to your phone. The website is - www.donotcall.gov
