I am one of the cognitive psychologists at Oberlin. I teach Cognitive Psychology, Laboratory in Cognitive Psychology, Educational Psychology (with Bill Friedman), Practicum in Educational Psychology, and I participate in the Department's team-taught introductory course (The Study of Behavior). Finally, I coordinate the running of several student research projects in the Memory Laboratory.
My research is on human memory. In the past, I have studied the generation effect, which refers to the robust finding that information produced by an individual is better remembered than information supplied to the individual. My current interest is on memory for conversations, a topic that Judi Beinstein-Miller and I have been studying for several years.
I am married and have two sons. |
