I am a social and personality psychologist with a strong interest in statistics. I teach social psychology, an advanced seminar on the psychology of social conflict, and the advanced research methods course. I have two main research areas. First, I study perspective taking in conflict situations. Currently, I am developing a cognitive model of how perspective taking occurs. I also study humans’ relationship with the natural world, in collaboration with Steve Mayer. Our initial research suggests that both individuals and the environment benefit when people feel connected to the natural world. I am a mother of two boys–thus, much of my free time is taken up reading Harry Potter aloud and picking legos up off the floor. I am passionate about the environment and simple living. I also like to garden, hike, and do yoga. | ||
