PULSES IN RUBBER TUBING

APPARATUS

lead-weighted rubber tubing 202-17-A6
hook or carabiner
202-17-A6

DESCRIPTION
Stretch out tubing with one end fixed to the wall.  Pluck or chop the tubing to generate a pulse that travels along the tubing and reflects at the wall.

NOTES

Hook one end of the tubing to an eyebolt and channel nut in the unistrut in the south wall.

Make sure ends of tubing are clamped securely so lead shot doesn't end up on the floor.

The linear density of the lead-shot-filled tubing is 0.2 kg/m.
