DESCRIPTION
Students walk around the room
listening
to the
variation in the amplitude of the sound as they pass through the nodes
and antinodes of the interference pattern produced by
the
two speakers.
NOTES
Set speakers about a meter apart.
Set function generator to about 1.5
kHz.
A microphone and oscilloscope can be
used
to display the variation in sound intensity. A laptop with the
soundcard scope program can be used in place of an oscilloscope.
