DESCRIPTION
Bell of bugle is dipped in bubble solution.  Playing bugle does not burst bubble, showing that the vibration, not the bulk motion, of the air transmits the sound.

This also shows the volume of air required to blow a bugle.

 
NOTES
 
Soap solution should be several centimeters deep in pan.
 
Mount mirror so that Bob can see the end of the bugle as he plays.
 
soap solution recipe:
10 parts deionized water
1 part Dawn
1/4 part glycerine
