The pulse glass engine contains a
volatile
liquid
and vapor at low pressure and is free to pivot at the center.
With a heat source near one bulb, the
increased
vapor pressure will force the liquid into the other bulb and tip the
balance, bringing the other bulb near the other heat source, and the
process repeats.
This can also be driven by ice cubes or liquid
nitrogen.
