View filters in reflected and
transmitted light. Interference filters transmit one band of
wavelengths, and reflect the rest, with little absorption. These
three filters transmit blue, green, and red, and reflect the
complementary color.
The effective thickness of the coatings, and therefore the color,
depends on the viewing angle:
