DESCRIPTION
- Pedaling the bicycle turns the
generator, converting mechanical energy into electrical. The 12
V,
50 W lamps can be switched into the circuit one at a time to increase
the load.
The power analyzer can be used to monitor the
current, voltage, and power to the bulbs.
NOTES
- Pressing down on the foot pedal
under the generator roller brings the
roller into contact with the tire. An adjustment screw
under the pedal sets the distance between the roller
and the tire.
Thanks to Paul Drake, OC Physics '07, for assembling the bicycle and
designing and building the circuit panel.
