Sean Dowgray started playing percussion in the 8th grade under the direction of Keith Larson. His junior year of high school he transferred to Interlochen Arts Academy under the direction of John Alfieri. In 2009, Sean was the only percussionist invited to attend the national YoungArts week in Miami, Florida where he performed various solo and chamber works. After graduating IAA with "excellency in percussion" Sean continued his studies at the Oberlin Conservatory under the tutelage Michael Rosen. In 2010, Sean was the recipient of the Oberlin Zildjian Award. Sean is a rising junior.
