A native of Hong Kong, Holden Wan Hong Lai first began his percussion
studies at the age of 14 with Florian Conzetti and Chris Froh in San
Francisco. In high school, he played timpani and percussion with the Young People Symphony Orchestra. Holden attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in the summer of 2009.
In the fall of 2010, Holden chose to attend the Oberlin Conservatory because
Of the generous financial aid offer, numerous performing opportunities, as
well as Mr. Rosenšs great enthusiasm in teaching. To this day, Holden is still very
content with his choice. He especially appreciates the nurturing environment
and supportive atmosphere that Mr. Rosen has created in the studio.
