Why Support OSTF

Charging even $1 for admission significantly reduces the size of a theater's potential audience, so we've made our admission free. OSTF operates on the ideal that it is more important to serve wider, more diverse audiences who collectively contribute. Small not-for-profit theaters of comparable size cover 21% of their operative expenses from ticket revenue, requiring other forms of income (such as gifts, individual donations, and grants) to cover the remaining expenses. OSTF dows not charge admission, but cash contributions still cover 16% of our operating budget. With continued audience growth, OSTF will be able to cover a comparable portion of our expenses with voluntary box office contributions, but we must raise the balance. That is why we're asking for your help. 

 Where Will Donations Go?

$75 covers the at-cost value of tickets for a family of 4.

$100 underwrites a scholarship for the OSTF's HS Acting Shakespeare Intensive.

$250 helps to cover a week's salary for one of our Equity actors.

$500 helps to cover a summer stipend for one of our college interns.

$1000 helps to cover building materials for one of our productions.
