Welcome to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music Opera Theater Department's On-Line Opera Resource Guide!

This resource page is for opera singers to help with role preparation and professional development, with a focus on the Oberlin College OPTH class requirements and papers. There are links to OBIS, New Grove II, OhioLink and several other local and international tools that you will need to be aware of as you progress through the OPTH classes. These include information about: REFERENCE TOOLS, HISTORICAL RESEARCH, BIOGRAPHIES, SYNOPSES, TEXT & TRANSLATION, TECHNICAL OPERA & DRAMA THEORY, and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. In addition, we are very keen to be up-to-date with all the most technologically recent sites and resources, so please let us know of anything that you have found useful during your research, and we will try to make sure that your fellow students know about it. We hope that you find this site fun, informative and useful for your research as both conservatory students and opera-singers-in-training.
