TWO NEUROSCIENCE MAJORS RECEIVE
GOLDWATER SCHOLARSHIPS

Congratulations to two of our Neuroscience majors, Keith Hanson and Christopher Macklin, who have been awarded the 2003 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.

Keith A. Hanson - Major(s): Neuroscience/Biochemistry Career Goal: Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Biochemistry. Pursue a career in medical research.

Christopher B. Macklin - Major(s): Neuroscience/Psychology Career Goal: Ph.D. in Neuroscience. Provide a coherent explanation of unconscious encoding processes in memory formation that unites biochemical phenomena on the neuronal level with data drawn from behavioral studies.

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry M. Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in the U.S. Senate. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.
