SOME OF MY PREVIOUS RESEARCH STUDENTS

Mark Braford, Jr.
Professor of Neuroscience & Biology (1986)

 A.B., Wabash College, 1964
Ph.D.,Case Western Reserve University, 1971

Teaching Interests: Neuroanatomy, Developmental Neurobiology, Evolution, Introductory Neuroscience.

Research Interests: Organization and evolution of the vertebrate nervous system. Using anatomical methods, professor Braford's studies brain organization in different animals and attemps to interpret the results in a comparative and evolutionary context. In recent work on the orgaization of the forebrain he has attempted to determine the extent to which nonmammalian vertebrates have evovled their own specialized patterns of forebrain organization as well as the extent to which they posses brain structures that are antecedent of the mammalian neocortex, basal ganglia, and limbic system.
