Albert Borroni
Lecturer, Neuroscience
Lecturer, Computer Science
Director, OCTET

(Oberlin Center for Technologically Enhanced Teaching)

B.A., Oberlin College, 1985
Ph.D., Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, 1991
Teaching Interests  Introduction to Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, Mind & Machine.

Research Interests  The primary interest in Professor Borroni's lab is to determine the mechanism(s) whereby memories are stored in the brain . On the assumption that memories are stored as changes in synaptic strength he is employing
1) physiological techniques to determine the requirements for inducing changes in synaptic strength and
2) computer modeling to better quantify the critical factors involved in modulating synaptic strength. Ultimately, he is interested in providing a physiological basis for cognitive phenomena.
