Registering for Classes

Everything you need to know about registering for courses, academic advising, and using PRESTO, Oberlin's online student records system, is here. First-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences and double-degree program are required to register for one or two courses over the summer months; a first-year seminar is highly recommended. Students will complete course registration during Orientation.

Online Placement Tests

You can complete your placement exams online prior to orientation for music theory, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. The link below will take you to the exam site. You must log in using your ObieID, which is printed on the front cover of your Big Book of Forms. Click on the Academics tab; there you will find yourself enrolled in a course titled Placement/Readiness Exams. This link has information on scoring, passwords, and dates of availability on the “What To Do” page.

Big Book of Forms (Required Forms)

Students who will be attending Oberlin in fall 2009 should receive a printed copy of the Big Book of Forms in late May. This book contains most of the forms students need to complete before arriving on campus—the summer registration request form, a form for submitting a photo for use on your student I.D. card, medical history and immunization forms, and forms concerning academic advising and accommodations for students with disabilities, as well as links to the online housing and dining application forms. If you lose or misplace any of the forms, you can download them here.

Failure to meet the deadlines (particularly for the medical history and immunization forms) can result in a delay in your enrollment at Oberlin College, so be aware of all deadlines.
