Lewis Center Boosts Energy Production
A new solar parking pavilion, scheduled for completion this fall, will not only attract motorists seeking protection from the elements, but should enable the Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environ-mental Studies to annually produce more electricity than it consumes, making it the largest photovoltaic-run building among colleges and universities in the country.

Men's Soccer Team Scores Big in Brazil
During a recent trip to Brazil, the Oberlin College Men's Soccer Team was able to experience the country's obsession with futebol firsthand and compete in several matches against local teams. While the trip helped the players pick up some new techniques, it also gave them the opportunity to explore Brazil's culture and bond with each other off the field.

The New York Times Op-ed Columnist Frank Rich Opens Convocation Series
A fixture at The New York Times since 1980, op-ed columnist and former theater critic Frank Rich will open Oberlin's 2005-2006 convocation series. The Times resident pundit on the convergence of American politics and popular culture, Rich will open the annual series on Tuesday, September 6, with an address titled "On Art, Culture & Politics: An Evening with Frank Rich." Also taking part in this year's convocation series will be Marjane Satrapi, author of Persepolis and Persepolis 2; the Soweto Gospel Choir; and Samantha Power, author of A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide.
