By Sue Kropp

The Expository Writing Program Introduces Its OWL

NOVEMBER 19, 1999--The Expository Writing Program reopened it's drop-in writing center in Mudd 210 September 21. Tutors will be available to give students writing advice through the end of the semester.

Len Podis, professor of English and expository writing, trains the student tutors to aid writers with all stages of the writing process. They can help writers select topics, develop research methods, organize materials, analyze rough drafts, revise drafts, and edit written work. The service is free to all students, and appointments are not necessary.

The Expository Writing Program encourages all writers, from basic to advanced, to make use of the tutoring center. The center's hours for fall semester are

  • Sunday: 1 P.M.-11 P.M.
  • Monday: 7 P.M.-11 P.M.
  • Tuesday: 5 P.M.-11 P.M.
  • Wednesday: 7 P.M.-11 P.M., and
  • Thursday: 7 P.M.-11 P.M.
