D.C. Alumni Association Sponsors Panel Discussion on State of the Nation

JANUARY 4, 2001--Oberlin’s Washington, D.C., Regional Alumni Association and the Career Services Advisory Committee is holding a reception and panel discussion at the Dirksen Senate Office Building Tuesday, January 9, as six alumni panelists tackle the topic "The State of Our Nation: Oberlin Perspectives."

Panelists include

  • Nan Aron ’70, president of Alliance for Justice;
  • Michael Doyle ’78, a reporter with McClatchy Newspapers;
  • Holly Fechner ’85, chief labor counsel for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee;
  • Linda Gustitus ’69, chief counsel and staff director with the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations; and
  • Cloyd "Mike" Pfister ’57, retired major general with the U.S. Army.

Moderating the discussion will be Greg Pinelo ’91, senior vice president of Greer, Margolis, Mitchell, Burns & Associates.

The program begins at 6:30 P.M. in Room 342 with a networking and mentoring reception, followed at 7:15 by the panel discussion. Guests are asked to enter the building at First and C Streets, Northeast. Street parking will be available at 6:30 at Union Station Metro.
