MARCH 6, 2000--Young-Hunter Professor of Studio Art John Pearson's 1999 residency in Japan inspired a series of new work that has culminated in Japan Passage, an exhibition on view at the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art until May 14.

Beginning with an interview this morning, Pearson is the featured artist of the week on Fox 8 News's Fox 8 in the Morning program, which airs Monday through Friday from 8 to 9 A.M. Pearson installed one of his works, Japan Passage: Sado Silence III, in the television studio; it will be visible as a backdrop throughout the week.

On the occasion of Pearson's one-person exhibition at the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, he and his wife, painter Audra Skuodas, will hold open studios Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26, from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. No appointment is necessary. Both studios are at 35 East College Street, Oberlin.
