Norm Roberston Student Prize
The Norm Roberston Student Prize of $250 is intended to recognize and spotlight students who have completed outstanding projects of either scholarly research or artistic production/performance that advance communal awareness of issues related to the history, experience, or accomplishments of U.S. and non-U.S. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender (LGBT) persons. The Robertson prize is co-sponsored by Oberlin Lambda Alumni (OLA) and the General Faculty Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender Concerns Committee (LGBTCC). A subcommittee of the LGBT CC oversees the awarding of the prize.

The deadline is 4:30 pm on Friday, May 11, 2007, and applicants will be notified of the decision the following week. All applicants should be prepared to attend the Lavender Celebration on Saturday May 26th if their project is chosen as the prize winner.

Andy Cemelli (OC'85) Student Research Grant
The Andy Cemelli (OC'85) Student Research Grant, awarded in memory of Mr. Cemelli, provides up to $750 to support a proposed research project, performance, or acquire training in an area related to the experience or accomplishments of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and/or transgendered people. The award could be used for travel to research sites, acquisition of reference sources, conference travel, performance production, etc. The prize is funded by the Oberlin Lambda Alumni and may be used during spring term or summer 2007. The successful candidate must agree to produce some product (paper, performance, conference presentation, etc.) that relates to what (s)he has learned or accomplished.
Any student in good standing who wishes to apply for this funding should access the application on the MRC website or pick up an application in the MRC (Wilder 208). Applications, faculty recommendation, and a proposed budget must be typed and submitted to Eric Estes either hard copy (Wilder 105) or by email by March 19, 2007 . The review committee will announce decisions shortly thereafter.
