OBERLIN

Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Oberlin College invites applications for two full-time, non-continuing faculty positions in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointments to these positions will be for a term of one year, beginning first semester of academic year 2008-2009, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.

The incumbents will teach 5 courses per year in the general area of undergraduate mathematics. Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. or Masters degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2008-09). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time, non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences.  Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year, beginning Fall Semester of academic year 2008-2009 with possibility of renewal for the academic year 2009-2010, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.

The incumbent will teach courses in the general area of undergraduate statistics (5 courses/year).  Preference will be given to candidates interested in and with experience specifically in statistics.

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph. D. or Masters degree (in hand or expected by Fall Semester, 2008).  Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching.  Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
