HIV/AIDS PROGRAMS
Our office serves as a clearinghouse for HIV/AIDS programs and services on campus and beyond. We can put you in touch with the student organization HIV EDUCATORS, refer you to an EXCO course covering these topics, let you know about for credit courses at Oberlin College related to HIV/AIDS and provide you with information on HIV Testing both on and off campus. Email us. We also want to year your ideas and suggestions for programs and services that reduce risk of HIV transmission, increase awareness, and support studnets in making healtheir, informed choices related to HIV/AIDS. We do have an HIV/AIDS Committee at Oberlin College if you'd like to help with policy and planning iniatives. For information about HIV TESTING ON CAMPUS PLEASE SEE: HIV TESTING at Oberlin College
WORLD AIDS WEEK
“
World AIDS Week” is organized annually out of our office
in collaboration with many others at Oberlin College. World AIDS
WEEK focuses on raising awareness about HIV/AIDS related issues
usually around some central theme (for 2004 we focuses on Women
and Girls). Starting this year, we are collaborating with the Multicultural
Resource Center’s (MRC) Community Coordinators, to honor
HIV awareness Days in specific communities
LOVE KISSES AND CONDOMS and/or For (safer) Play
“
Love Kisses and Condoms” and/or For (safer) Play is offered every fall to provide
a series of educational workshops about human sexuality, safer
sex practices, and the issues of consent. This year we collaborated
closely with the Sexual Information Center and their event
of Safer Sex Night, to provide a rich set of events ranging
from
dorm raps,
to discussions with service providers, to passive education
with flyers and displays.
