The Art Library is named for its founder Clarence Ward,
who served the College from 1917 to 1947 in a variety
of capacities including Professor of Art History and
Director of the Allen Memorial Art Museum.
The turnstile at the entrance to the Art Library is
creatively disguised as a book.
