WWII Posters: This Is the Enemy
During the war, the US government used posters to define the enemy as Nazi Germany. In the collection of anti-Nazi propaganda posters there is strong imagery and even violent images undermining the swastika and other symbols of Hitler's Nazi Germany. Many of these posters sent a clear message for Americans not to fear the enemy; instead it is made clear that America and the American way of life were simply superior to that of their enemy and that alone would give America victory in the war.
