WWII Posters: "Don't Tell"
The "Don't Tell" collection of posters all deal with themes of secrecy and cautiousness. In this group of posters the whereabouts of troops is almost holy information, and it is a crime to talk about certain things with even your neighbor. The cautiousness must have played an integral role with people being less trusting and very suspicious of one another. The government wanted very much to undermine spy efforts and again highlights the power of individual citizens. This was done to the extent that it seemed a person's careless actions could cost America the war.
