World War II Poster Exhibition
About the Exhibit
Students at Oberlin, Wooster, and Kenyon colleges and Denison and Ohio Wesleyan universities are participating in The Five Colleges of Ohio World War II Poster Exhibition, using posters at each institution cataloged as part of the Historical Documents Cataloging Project. The libraries of each of the five schools involved will host exhibits between December and February featuring posters distributed to Depository Libraries during World War II. The posters fit into five categories: Conservation, Don't Tell, This Is the Enemy, U.S. Patriotism, and Women and World War II. Each category corresponds to a theme particular to WWII. The overall objective of this exhibit is to be educational and informative. Most of the posters featured on this web site are from the online digital collections of National Archives and Records Administration, and Northwestern University. Oberlin College Library has the majority of these posters and they will be exhibited beginning December 3, 2001 in the Oberlin College Library. Denison University will host a concurrent display of their own posters. A schedule for the remaining exhibitions will be posted here soon. Other digital images from various online sources have been added for enhancement.
