TEACHING RESEARCH

How do we talk to students about doing research?

What kinds of advice do we give students about doing research?

How can we help students think of research as a process rather than a straight line/distance between two points?

How can we teach students about the all of the various kinds of reference tools, both print and electronic, so they can develop research strategies?

RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS

What types of assignments have been effective at making students more "information literate"? What made them effective?

What do we want students to learn from research assignments?
