Submitting a Digital Copy of your OC Honors Paper or Thesis

In the Spring of 2008 we are offering, as a pilot project, the opportunity for honors students to upload a final copy of their honors paper to the OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations site.
Please send any comments or questions to Alan Boyd, Assoc. Director of Libraries.

  1. To begin the process of submitting your honors paper, go to the OhioLINK ETD Submission web page.
  2. Please read through the material on the OhioLINK submission webpages carefully. Contact Alan Boyd if anything is unclear.
  3. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions are available at the OhioLINK site.
  4. There are already a few OC honors papers to be viewed at the OhioLINK site.
  5. When loaded at the OhioLINK site, your paper will be easily found by Google and other internet search engines, and you'll also have a permanent URL at the OhioLINK site that you can cite in your resume or in other scholarly papers .
  6. Copyright issues are explained quite fully in during the submission process and in the FAQ; if you have some content within your honors paper that is not your own creative work (e.g. photographs taken by others) please consult with Alan Boyd, and we'll work through those issues.
  7. There is no requirement that your honors paper be submitted to UMI (as is often the case for doctoral dissertations). When you get to this question near the end of the submission process, we suggest you select the first option in the UMI permissions box (i.e. " Do not upload my paper to UMI") and ignore the copyright registration check off immediately following.

N.B. Library will review the descriptive portion of your submission and will contact your OC faculty advisor for approval prior to releasing your honors paper on the public OhioLINK site.

Thanks very much for being in the vanguard on this project. We're very happy to highlight your achievements here at Oberlin.
