Submitting a Digital Copy of your OC
Honors or Masters Thesis
Honors students are encouraged to upload a final copy of their honors or masters theses to the OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations site.
- To begin the process of submitting your honors thesis, go to the OhioLINK ETD Submission web page.
- Please read through the material on the OhioLINK submission webpages carefully. Contact Alan Boyd if anything is unclear.
- Answers to Frequently Asked Questions are available at the OhioLINK site.
- There are quite a few OC honors theses to be viewed at the OhioLINK site.
- When loaded at the OhioLINK site, your thesis will be easily found by Google and other internet search engines, and you'll also have a permanent URL at the OhioLINK site that you can cite in your resume or in other scholarly papers .
- Adobe PDF format is the normal format used for thesis submission, but the OhioLINK website will give you additional information on other acceptable file formats.
- There is no requirement that your honors thesis be submitted to UMI (as is often the case for doctoral dissertations). When you get to this question near the end of the submission process, we suggest you select the first option in the UMI permissions box (i.e. " Do not upload my paper to UMI") and ignore the copyright registration check off immediately following.
- Copyright issues are explained quite fully in during the submission process and in the FAQ; if you have some content within your honors thesis that is not your own creative work (e.g. photographs taken by others) please consult with Alan Boyd, and we'll work through those issues. If you have used materials from the OC Archives in your thesis, please check with Archives staff for permission to post those materials online. The Archives will generally provide a web resolution digital image at no charge and ask you to use the credit line "Photo Courtesy of the Oberlin College Archives" in your thesis.
During the OhioLINK submission process you will be required check off that you agree to the following:OhioLINK ETD Center Publication Agreement
