Internships for undergraduates*
Undergraduate students at colleges that participate in the Mellon program may apply for internships that include a course about libraries, what librarians do, and leadership skills. Students also work on projects that give them experience working in libraries.
Academic library jobs for college graduates
College graduates may apply for a full-time, one year position working at a college library in order to gain work experience and exposure to possible careers in librarianship.
Scholarships for library science graduate program students*
Students at the participating colleges are eligible to apply for scholarships to assist with the costs of graduate study in librarianship.
Programs that focus on library careers, trends and issues
In 2006, there was an interactive program focusing on Google — its effect on library services, the book scanning initiative, and the scholarly research search engine.
There are also annual career panels that include librarians from academic, public and special libraries.
* Available only to students who attend the participating colleges.
