Oberlin faculty, students, and staff now have unlimited access to commercially-available, streamed audio services that allow for 24/7 listening. The following resources are subscription services to which the Library subscribes.

Technical Requirements for Sound Streaming Products
Naxos Music Library & Naxos Jazz Music Library
- Required: Internet connection and audio-enabled computers
- Preferred for both Windows & Mac users:
- MS Internet Explorer (IE)
- Windows Media Player
- MS IE settings:
- Minimum requirements:
- DSL or ISDN for 64Kbps streaming (near CD quality)
- Dial-up connection for 20Kbps streaming (FM quality)
DRAM: Database of Recorded American Music
- Required: Internet connection and audio-enabled computers
- Compatible with: Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Safari
- Preferred: QuickTime (N.B. Using Windows Media Player or Real may cause display or performance issues. If QuickTime is installed on your system but not set as the default application for files of extension type *.smil and *.sml, alter preferences to effect this change.)
Problems?
If you encounter problems accessing a sound streaming source, follow these steps:
- Go to http://www.ohiolink.edu/cgi-bin/whereami.pl
- Copy and paste the information about your browser and IP address into an email message to Alan.Boyd@oberlin.edu
- Include the name of the database and the date and time you experienced the problem
- Describe or copy and paste any error messages you received while trying to access the database
