The Conservatory Library circulation and reserve policies are based on those established by the Oberlin College Library.

Circulation Policies

Loan Periods

(Oberlin College Students, Staff, and Faculty)

Semester

* Conservatory faculty members may borrow recordings for a semester. All other College faculty and staff may borrow recordings for one week.

For Oberlin city borrowers and fee patrons, books and scores circulate for 3 weeks; recordings are library use only.

For other Lorain County residents, books may be borrowed for 3 weeks; scores and recordings are library use only.

Recalls

All circulating material is subject to recall. Recall notices are generated by the automated circulation system. Recalls may be initiated on OBIS. For help, please ask a member of either the Circulation or Reference staffs.

Storage

Some portions of the Conservatory Library's collections reside in storage. These materials may be accessed via twice-daily retrievals (excluding weekends). Requests for retrievals may be placed on OBIS. Requests placed during the morning and early afternoon hours will be available by 5:00 p.m. the same day. Those placed during the late afternoon and evening hours will be available by 9:00 a.m. the following day. For help placing requests, please ask a member of either the Circulation or Reference staffs.
