Due Dates
Most books, scores, and government documents are due on May 12. If you are completing work due during the exam period, you may keep semester loan items for a few extra days and you will not be charged fines. If you wish to keep library materials beyond that, please renew them. Remember that special due dates still apply to reserve materials, periodicals, recalled items, video materials, interlibrary loans, OhioLINK materials and other short-term loan items, and you will be responsible for fines if the items are returned overdue.
Checking your Library Record
You may produce a list of items currently checked out to you by using the "View your library record" option in OBIS; you can also display and print lists of unpaid fines. This does not include items checked out via our traditional ILL system, i.e. requests made via Illiad. Log in to you Illiad account for a list of ILL items you have checked out. Please contact a circulation supervisor at your earliest convenience if you believe our records to be in error.
Fines for Overdue Materials
- Recalled items are fined at a rate of $10/day. Recalled items are due at the time indicated on your notice.
- Periodicals from the Main and Conservatory Libraries are fined at a rate of $1/day. Periodicals from the Science Library are fined at a rate of $0.50/hour. Be sure to return or renew them by their due dates.
- Interlibrary loan materials are fined at a rate of $1/day.
- OhioLINK materials are fined at a rate of $0.50/day.
Deadlines
Scholar studies, carrels, and lockers must be cleared by 5:30 p.m., Sunday, May 17. We will start cleaning these study areas first thing Monday morning, and failure to clean out your carrel, locker, or scholar study by the deadline will result in a $20.00 charge. You are responsible for the safe return, in good condition, of all materials checked out to you according to our records. This includes items that you have been using in-house, in carrels, lockers, or scholar studies.
