Reserves

To determine if an item is on closed reserve or open reserve and to get the call number, consult the reserve lists in OBIS by course or by professor/instructor.

Closed Reserve

Closed reserve materials are required readings held behind the Circulation Desk.  Titles are paged by call number and then checked out at the Circulation Desk.  "Library Use Only" items are checked out but are used in the Art Library.

Open Reserve

Open reserve materials are recommended readings located on self-serve shelves near the Circulation Desk. Readings are organized by professor, course number, and then by call number.   Open reserve materials do not need to be checked out for use in the library.

Loan Period & Fines

Closed and open reserve materials circulate for three hours.

Overnight check out begins at 9 p.m. (3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). Materials checked out overnight are due at 10 a.m. the next morning (1:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday).

Fines for overdue reserve materials are $2/ hour per item.
