Browsing the Art Library Collection

The following basic call numbers are for broad subject areas in the Art Library's collections. The subjects listed below are preceded by first the basic Library of Congress (LC) Classification and then the basic Dewey Decimal Classification. Titles in the Dewey collection were acquired predominantly before the mid-1970s. Titles in the LC collection were acquired since the mid-1970s. Consult the online catalog for specific locations of all titles, since books may be in use or checked out; shelved in Oversize, Flat, or regular size stacks; or found in Special Collections, Permanent Closed Reserve, or in Reference.
