Project title: Free Reference Web Sites

Mentor: Cynthia Comer

Department: Reference and Instruction Dept.

Estimated length of project: 1-2 weeks

Hours/day: 2

Total project hours: 10-20

Dates Available: June 20-July 31

Description: The Machine-Assisted Reference Section (MARS) of ALA's Reference and User Services Association has published two articles reviewing the best free reference Web sites. In this project, the intern will examine the Web sites listed in the articles and recommend which to add as links to the library's web pages. The intern will also write brief descriptions to accompany the links and recommend which pages the links should be added to.
