Additional comments: Major portion of the project will
take place in August, and the rest will be carried into the Fall.
Description: The purpose of this project is to help raise
fund for the ALA
Spectrum Initiative which provides scholarships for students
from culturally diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing
librarianship as a career. This is a nationwide effort of which
this project is a part. From this project interns will learn about
ALA as an organization, aspects of fund raising, details of the
Spectrum Program, and the issue of diversity in the profession.
