Diversity Intern Program: A Model for Other Academic Libraries (ALAO Poster Session)

Number of openings: 2-3

Estimated length of project: 40 hours preparation, plus one day trip to Ashland, OH on Friday, October 26, 2001

Hours/day: 2 per day

Dates available: After May 21

Additional comments: 5 hours of work need to be carried out (writing up the proposal) between May 21 and June 29 (when the proposal is due).

Description: This project will provide an opportunity for the interns to participate in a poster session at the ALAO Annual Conference on Friday, October 26, 2001. Interns will learn how to write a conference proposal, prepare and conduct the presentation, and help publicize the program. Poster sessions are like exhibit talks where a display is laid out and presenters are present to talk and answer questions that people may have about their presentation.
