Pre-Departure
Information
Big
Book of Forms
Students who have
paid their matriculation deposit in order to attend Oberlin
in fall 2008 must have already received the Big Book of Forms.
The Book contains all the forms new students need to complete
before enrollment—housing and dining forms, a form for
submitting a photo for use on your student I.D. card, medical
history and immunization forms, and forms concerning academic
advising and accommodations for students with disabilities.
If you lost or misplaced any of the forms, you can download
them here.
NOTE:
Failure to submit required paperwork (particularly the medical
history and immunization forms) in a timely manner can result
in a delay in your enrollment at Oberlin College, so be aware
of the submission deadline specified on each form.
If you have questions about any of the forms in the Big Book
of Forms, please contact directly the office that is listed
on each form.
What
to Bring
Packing
for college can seem overwhelming. Use these
suggested lists to help you get organized and started.
If your traveling space is tight, remember that you can ship
boxes to your Oberlin address. NOTE:
Shipments of students' belongings
will be accepted in the Student Mail Room only after August
18, 2008.
If
you have questions about shipping belongings to Oberlin, please
contact the Student Mail Room directly at 440-775-8115.
You can verify your
campus address in PRESTO
after July 1, 2008. To find your mailbox number, click on
Personal Information and then on View Addresses and Phones.
The address format for mailing items to your mailbox is:
Your Name
OCMR (your number)
135 W. Lorain St.
Oberlin, OH 44074-1081
Drugstores, supermarkets, clothing stores, and bookstores
where you can buy essentials are within walking distance of
campus, but specialty shops and superstores are difficult
to get to unless you have a car. A group of students and alumni
has created a guide to shopping
in town.
