On-Campus
Employment
International
students with F-1 visa status are allowed to work on
campus as long as they follow the policies and procedures
established by our office and the office of student employment.
International students with visa
types different from F-1 must consult with Dean
Grim to determine if they are eligible to work on campus.
On-campus employment may
not begin more than 30 days prior to the actual start of
classes.
On-campus employment
must not exceed 20 hours per week while school is in session.
Full-time on-campus work (between 20 and 40 hours per
week) is allowed only when school is not in session, i.e.
during the semester breaks and the summer vacation.
At a special F-1 employment session during
the International Student Orientation, we will explain everything
you need to know about on-campus employment. If you have
questions before or after this session, please contact Dean
Grim.
International students can look for jobs
on campus by contacting specific offices they might be interested
in and/or by regularly checking the Oberlin
Online Classifieds. Look for the link called "Student
Jobs".
